Getting Extra Help from Your Energy and Water Companies

If you might need extra support during power cuts or with your bills, you can join the Priority Services Register (PSR). It's free.

Who can join?

You may be eligible if you're a pensioner, disabled, have a long-term health condition, are pregnant, have young children, or need help with communication.

How to sign up

1. Find out who supplies your gas, electricity and water (check your bills)
2. Contact each company and ask to join their Priority Services Register
3. Tell them what support you need — you don't need to prove anything

What help can you get?

• Advance warning of power cuts and priority updates
• Bills in large print, Braille or other formats
• A password so you can check visitors are genuine
• Someone you trust can be added to help manage your account
